A ‘Full House’ Movie? You Got It, Dude

full-house1For anyone born between the years of 1976 and 1990, I have big news.  There are currently negotiations in place to adapt Full House for the silver screen. John Stamos, who played Uncle Jesse on the sitcom for eight seasons and has since been in random crap, told the New York Daily News of his cinematic vision:

I’m working on a movie idea, but it wouldn’t be us playing us. I’m not 100 per cent sure, but it would probably take place in the first few years. I see Steve Carell as Danny Tanner (first played by now-filthy comic Bob Saget) and Tracy Morgan as Joey Gladstone (first played by Alanis Morissette muse Dave Coulier) because he’s funny.

Okay, so the movie will feature none of the original cast members and Joey’s race is going to change. What’s the point? It’s not like Full House had that amazing of a premise that they need to go repeating it…each character is flatter than a Swedish pancake. The reason that the show is so beloved by people (I repeat: only those born between 1976 and 1990) is because it captures the era it was made in and those specific actors struck a cord. How is Jodie Sweetin going to get her big screen comeback now? This “idea” that Stamos has needs a little work.
