2010 Emmy Nominations Announced: Voters All Aboard Team Conan

The Emmy nominations were announced yesterday and voters for the 62nd Awards Ceremony clearly showed their allegiance to Team Conan. The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien was nominated for best variety, music or comedy Series, while both The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and The Jay Leno Show were left out of the competition. With his ratings still trailing Letterman, Leno just can’t catch a break these days. The nominations for best drama series included previous nominees Breaking Bad, Dexter, Lost, Mad Men along with new additions such as The Good Wife and True Blood.

For best comedy series, last year’s nominees How I Met Your Mother, Weeds and Family Guy were snubbed in favor of  new recruits Curb Your Enthusiasm, Glee, Modern Family and Nurse Jackie. Whether any of them will be able to unseat 30 Rock remains to be seen. After winning three straight years in a row, Tina Fey accepted the award at last years ceremony, saying sarcastically, “That was  a real nail biter.” The broadcast of the awards show will air August 29th on NBC.
