Latoya Jackson Cut From ‘Brüno’ Out Of Respect For MJ

The latest Brüno update is that the Sacha Baron Cohen comedy will be getting a last minute hatchet job before it opens in theaters this Friday. WENN reports that a scene which contained a cameo by Latoya Jackson has been officially cut. The movie’s publicist issued a statement saying:

Out of respect for the Jackson family, the filmmakers have decided to remove a small scene involving La Toya Jackson.

The scene in question features Cohen posing as a journalist in order to interview Ms. Jackson. During the interview, he pokes fun at Michael Jackson and tries to steal his number from her phone.

I respect Cohen’s decision to stay out the whole Jackson mess, but I also think that it would be a good antidote to all the over-the-top media hoopla of the past two weeks. I’m sure the scene will show up in some form or another on the DVD release or the Director’s Cut. Maybe even TMZ.
