Heidi Montag’s Disturbing Plastic Surgery Has Been A Boon To Her Career: Films Funny Or Die Video W/ Ron Howard, Nabs Part In Adam Sandler Comedy

Former MTV reality star Heidi Montag knows how to use the media to her advantage, recently conducting a press tour days after getting a full body plastic surgery makeover. She made the rounds, visiting with all of the ususal suspects: Access Hollywood, Entertainment Tonight and Good Morning America (even the morning shows couldn’t resist the story). It was the perfect tabloid spectacle, so disturbing and freakish that you couldn’t look away. The media saturation (including a People magazine cover story that ran with the headline, “Addicted to Plastic Surgery: Ten Procedures In One Day!) coincided with the release of her pop album. The album tanked, but now Montag is getting hired for more acting gigs not in spite of the surgery (or her lack of acting ability) but because of it. The surgeries may have been, not only a quick fix for her self image, but also for her career.

In a recent appearance on The Tonight Show, Montag promoted a new video for Funny Or Die that was directed by Ron Howard (posted below) and revealed that she will be playing a part in Adam Sandler‘s next movie in the role of a wife in a plastic surgery addicted married couple. Kevin Nealon, the actor playing her husband, will be playing the part under heavy prosthetics. Montag shouldn’t need any makeup to make her look like she’s gone under the knife.

As long she can keep scoring gimmicky acting roles, she should stay busy. For her sake, it’s too bad the FX series Nip/Tuck (about sibling plastic surgeons) already aired its final episode as the “new and improved” version of her, would have been perfect for a cameo. Maybe she can get some writer to whip up a spin off. She could also try acting on stage, where the audiences are kept a safe distance away from the performers. After all, she should probably try to avoid any extreme closeups.
