HEY, I THINK I SEE A CELEBRITY! All Chi-Town Sightings, Week Of 11/23/09

From time to time celebrities do step out of LA and New York to venture over to the windy city! They’re not always A-list, but what the heck, we’ll take what we can get. This week’s sightings:

  • Pete Wentz went out to dinner a group of friends, which included De’Mar Hamilton from Plain White T’s, last week Monday, at The 44th Ward Dinner Party. According to Red Eye, he ate a grilled cheese sandwich, drank champagne and sported more conservative look. So, in other words, he wasn’t dressed like the Emo version of Gypsy Rose-Lee. After dinner he headed to his downtown nightclub Angels & Kings.

The next day on Twitter, Wentz talked about spending the night in the same bedroom he grew up in and said Chicago revitalizes him.

This town always refreshes me. Just when I thought I’m running on fumes.”

He must have been running on fumes at a recent photo shoot where he sported a truly frightening porn-stache.

Wentz’s long suffering wife, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz didn’t make the Chicago trip with him. No doubt she’s probably still sore about being fired from her role on the CW’s Melrose Place reboot. Simpson-Wentz wasn’t the only one that was let go by producers, though.

  • Chicago native Colin Egglesfield also got the boot. The young actor made an appearance at Landmark on Wednesday to promote his Shout Out! T-Shirt line. Has he learned nothing from Gwyneth Paltrow? T-shirt lines are out and drippy lifestyle websites are in. Think big!
  • John Cusack returned home for the Thanksgiving holiday and hit up hot spots Market and Cuvee with his buddy, Chicago Wolves hockey player, Chris Chelios. Cusack has recently scored a big hit with his starring role in Roland Emmerich‘s Independence Day/ Earthquake mash-up 2012.

The disaster epic proves that all it takes to create a blockbuster is the ability to combine elements of previous hit movies. Although something tells me that Must Love Dogs meets The Day After Tomorrow wouldn’t have panned out.
