HEY, I THINK I SEE A CELEBRITY!: All Chi-Town Sightings, Week of 1/25

From time to time celebrities do step out of LA and New York to venture over to the windy city! They’re not always A-list, but what the heck, we’ll take what we can get. This week’s sightings:

  • Amanda Seyfried and Channing Tatum were in town as part of the promotional junket for their new movie Dear John. In an interview with the Chicago Tribune, Seyfried, who has recently locked lips with Megan Fox in the vampire thriller Jennifer’s Body and shares a steamy scene with Tatum in Dear John, talked about her preference for kissing men onscreen. She said:

I prefer being intimate with males. And the kiss with Megan was very technical. There were extreme close-ups of tongue and lips maybe too much –but it was kind of necessary for the movie. With Chan, they were romantic kisses. I felt more comfortable doing it with Chan than I did with Megan.

I guess we won’t be seeing a remake of Thelma & Louise with those two any time soon.

  • Joe Montana dined at Sunda on Friday. In an interview with Maxim in June, the former 49ers quarterback was asked how his throwing arm is doing these days. He said:

Good. You know I have two boys in highschool playing. Actually one’s off to college to play quarterback so we throw almost everyday.

He’s not kidding. They even throw in the middle of the ocean apparently.

  • Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger hung out at The Underground on Thursday. In July, he was sued for sexual assault by an employee at a Harrahs hotel where he was staying while participating in a celebrity golf tournament. The accuser, Andrea Mcnulty claimed the quarterback had lured her into his hotel room. The hiccup in her story is an IM message she sent after the alleged incident that reads:

I would date Ben Roethlisberger.

That would have made for a real “meet cute” story.

  • Rapper Lupe Fiasco performed at a fundraiser for U.S. Senate Candidate Cheryle Jackson on Thursday at The Shrine. Fiasco recently joined other celebrities including actors Emile Hirsch and Jessica Biel in a climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro that was organized by the musician Kenna for a charity campaign last month. In an interview with MTV he explained how he made it through the arduous trek:

The people that were there were the support staff; they were our motivation. That carried everybody. Attitudes and spirits were high.

He also denied rumors that he and Biel, who is dating Justin Timberlake, became romantically intertwined during the trip. He said:

No. She’s a very lovely person. I do consider her a friend. She’s very dope, a very capable young woman. Very smart. But we are not dating or romantically intertwined in any way. But she’s good peoples.

  • Speaking of Jessical Biel, Access Hollywood‘s Maria Menounos who had lunch at Rockit Bar & Grill in River North on Wednesday, interviewed the actress who is starring the upcoming movie Valentines Day, about the Kilimanjaro hike. Biel said:

It was such a challenge for me. It was probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever done… Sometimes it was kind of miserable. Altitude sickness is like a general uncomfortable, uneasy feeling. You just can’t think straight.

Sounds like the experience of watching an episode of her former show, Seventh Heaven.
