HEY, I THINK I SEE A CELEBRITY! All Chi-Town Sightings, Week of 7/26

From time to time, celebrities do step out of LA and New York to venture over to the windy city. They’re not always A-list, but — what the hell, we’ll take what we can get. This week’s sightings:

  • Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora, had dinner at Japonais on Thursday. They were in town to perform two shows at Soldier Field as part of their year long “Circle Tour”, which will stop everywhere  from Japan to Latin America and Australia. In an interview with E! Online, Bon Jovi said that although he has traveled all over the world there are still a few places left he has yet to visit:

I have not performed in Greece or Israel. And those are the only two things left on my checklist.

  • Kid Rock, who also performed on the bill with Bon Jovi, hung out at Crimson Lounge Friday and  Stanley’s in Lincoln Park Saturday. Rock’s new album Born Free is being released in September and features guest appearances by Martina McBride, Sheryl Crow, T.I., Zac Brown, Bob Seger and Trace Adkins. Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga must have not returned phone calls.
  • Former 90210 star Ian Ziering and Superbowl XX MVP Richard Dent each had dinner at Cuvee on Saturday.
  • Access Hollywood correspondent Maria Menounos hosted the Rock ‘n’ Roll Chicago Half Marathon on Saturday. Celebrity runners included Al Roker, Giuliana Ransic and Bachelor stars Jake Pavelka and Jason Mesnick. Several of the celeb participants had dinner at Rockit Bar & Grill in River North on Friday and N9NE Steakhouse on Saturday.

Besides making appearances at various events, Pavelka has recently had to deny being gay after rumors began to circulate following his breakup with his Bachelor fiancée Vienna Girardi. In an interview with RadarOnline, Bachelor Season 4 contestant Paul Russeau said he is convinced of Pavelka’s real sexual orientation:

I definitely think he has gay tendencies, not only because of the way he dresses but also because he didn’t want to have sex with a beautiful girl and never really tried with the other girls on the show. Nothing personal, Jake!’

If the rumors turn out to be true, ABC should definitely consider a spin-off.

  • SNL‘s Seth Meyers strolled into town with producer Lorne Michaels to scope out Chicago’s comedy scene for fresh talent. Meyers took time out from his busy schedule to have dinner at Rockit. The Weekend Update vet recently hosted the ESPY Awards and told the New York Times that he thinks that he’s found the perfect outlet for his love of sports and comedy through his Twitter account:

I think anyone who follows me on Twitter has learned that my cottage industry for the last month has been the World Cup. If I’m gaining followers, I’m sure I’m losing the same amount who are like, Wait a second, this isn’t what I signed up for.

  • Patrick Kane let loose on the dance floor at Bull & Bear Thursday night. Kane was convicted of assault and battery charges in 2009 for allegedly punching a cab driver who didn’t have the correct change. Hopefully he had a designated driver this time out.
  • Kane’s Blackhawks teammates Jonathan Toews, Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook went out on the town Thursday, enjoying a meal at Tavern on Rush, in the VIP section.
