R.I.P.: ‘The Jay Leno Show’; Final Episode Airs, Kutcher Tells Leno He Was “Punk’d”

The final episode of the The Jay Leno Show aired lasted night. It seems like just yesterday Time magazine was predicting the amply jawed comedian was “the future of television” (they were also the ones that proclaimed that Rosie O’Donnell was “The Queen of Nice”). Who could forget the show’s first episode, which was probably the one and only to score decent ratings. Jerry Seinfeld and a post-Taylor Swift interrupting Kanye West were guests. For the final show, Ashton Kutcher and Gaborey Sidibe made appearances and Kutcher took the opportunity to tell Leno:

I have to admit something to you. So I know this is the last show. So I felt that it was fitting that I came on the last show to admit this whole Tonight Show “earlier show thing” was a punk.

Leno responded:

Wow. Very elaborate!

So Conan must have been in on the whole thing all along.
