‘Scream 4′ Turning Out To Be A Killer Shoot: Hayden Panettiere Denies On Set Strife: “I’m Having A Really Good Time”

Just as soon as production on Scream 4 started earlier this month, so did speculation about problems on the set. Screenwriter Kevin Williamson, who scripted each of the previous films, was axed (no pun intended) from the highly anticipated sequel and replaced by Ehren Kruger, whose credits include Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and The Ring. Even though filming is already four weeks underway, the script has been given a dramatic overhaul. After news about the last minute changes was reported by the entertainment site Zap2It, director Wes Craven responded via Twitter, saying:

@Zap2it I have not been given control of the script. #SCREAM4

Due to some of the changes, Lauren Graham, whose part was reduced to a four line cameo, has dropped out of the project altogether. Despite all the bad buzz,  Hayden Panettiere told Access Hollywood that the rumors that she was also unhappy with the script changes were untrue. She said:

I don’t know whether it’s somebody projecting or, who knows where it came from, but ultimately it was very untrue and I love my character…I’m having a really good time doing it.

Although it’s never good news when a writer is replaced so late into a movie’s production, it may have been for the best. While Williamson did write the first two well received entries in the series, he was also repsonsible for the obnoxious cartoonishness of Scream 3. Outtakes from the third film posted below.
