Dan Aykroyd Confirms ‘Ghostbusters 3’

ghostbustersTwenty-five years after it became a pop culture phenomenon, Dan Aykroyd has confirmed that there will indeed be a Ghostbusters 3. Amazingly, most of the original cast will be returning for it. Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson, and Sigourney Weaver have already signed on. It’ll be nice to see Weaver playing something other than a “shrewd business woman” character for a change (see Be Kind, Rewind, Baby Mama or The TV Set). And there will apparently be some new faces as well.

Aykroyd tells the L.A. Times:

I’d like it to be a passing-of-the-torch movie. Let’s revisit the old characters briefly and happily and have them there as family but let’s pass it on to a new generation.

I don’t mind them passing the torch, as long as it’s not to Shia LeBeouf…we don’t need another Indy 4.
